Andrew Leslie, MP has been appointed parliamentary secretary to the minister of foreign affairs, and took on "special responsibilities" for the crucial Canada-U.S. relations file on January 30, 2017. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office said Leslie, MP for the Ontario riding of Orléans, would play "a critical role in building ties with the new U.S. administration." Mr. Leslie also represented Canada at the inauguration ceremony of Serbia's newly elected President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade last week.
