Grudge Song

Female Prisoner #701: Scorpion (1972) kicked off a franchise that combined art house and grind house and won over Mike and Josh completely. As a Meiko Kaji action vehicle it both embodies and defies normal women in prison tropes with a nudity, violence and traditional theatre. Kaji was the star of four films (1972-1973... yes all of them) in the series and the hosts really believe you to see three out of four of them. You may recognize the main theme from it's use in Kill Bill. Or the Movie Mondays page where we pointed that out! If that's not your thing, maybe a heady Russian sci-fi is? Head over to the Mayfair June 24 and 25th at 8:45 to see Solaris by acclaimed filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky.
