Bring "The Hammer" Down

Mike and Josh once again go back to the 70s and boy is it a trip. With Fred Williamson as their guide they talk a little bit about the history and style of Blaxploitation films by looking at how it was adapted into many different genres from Black Caesar (1973) a crime film, Joshua (1975) the western, Three the Hardway (1974) an action movie, and finally Bucktown (1975) and thrillers. And of course they mention Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971) and Shaft (1971) the fathers of Blaxploitation. Go see The Handmaiden the newest film by Park Chan-wook playing at the Bytowne on Remembrance Day until November 16th! And if you've got the change we'd love if you spared it our way.
