I'm excited to present this program, which was curated by a friend of a friend out in Vancouver last weekend. I love how the world is sometimes small. I was an avid NME reader back then. Researching through her recommendations was a blast (from the past). I hope you'll enjoy it!

Hi Anne-Marie, thanks for the shout-out, looking forward to the show. A minor correction: The Diodes introduced themselves to the London music scene without my help - I merely introduced them to the author of the definitive book on punk, England’s Dreaming. Jon Savage subsequently included interviews with John and Paul in the book. And altho’ I love fortuitous errors, it’s ’Trampled’ not ‘Tramped’ .Finally, did you get my postscript from Erin - feat. Yello, Cowboys International, Throbbing Gristle and others?

So glad you're tuning in, Adair!! Corrections noted! Yes to all those suggestions. I will likely have a Part II to this!

Hi Anne Marie, lovely intro, thank you. But the Human League track I selected was ‘Empire State Human’ a very early techno track. ‘Human’ was much later and mainstream! I fault my handwriting!

I didn't think that one fit in so well. Haha! I had a bit of trouble with your handwriting. All good!

Hey, Anne-marie, how bout some Thomas Dolby as a special request for next week? This show is reminding me of him, and that sound he fit in... à very brilliant underrated artist

Yes, California’s buried geniuses, The Sleepers. ‘Forever’ is the track that will take you where only Joy Division fear to tread.

Here's a quiz question for your listeners next week: what band is responsible for one of the deathlessly great lyrics of the period - 'Time flies/and time crawls/like an insect/up and down the walls'. Name that track and hopefully Anne-Marie will play it (not on current list of suggestions)!
