Hailed as the second coming of Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley's rise in the world of jazz was truly meteoric. With Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Bill Evans he was part of the greatest sextet in the history of jazz. However, Cannonball also made individual recordings with each of these jazz giants. Today we'll feature selections from "Quintet in Chicago", "Somethin' Else", and "Know What I Mean". Each record reveals the articulate, soulful, and larger than life sound that was Julian Cannonball Adderley.
