George Gershwin: The American Soul

He was a celebrated composer of classical works, stage and screen, with numerous songs that became an integral part of the great American songbook. In 1937, at the peak of his career he passed away at age 38. He was the best and brightest of American composers and his death made the nation grieve. Today Approaching Standards celebrates the music of George Gershwin.
