English Language and Literature as a Colonial Tool in India

Today we are discussing the complexity of colonialism in India from a historical and literary perspective with Sukeshi Kamra (Graduate Studies in the English Department at Carleton University). English as a language and a literature was used as a colonial tool within India and this has led to lasting affects, which begs the question: How do we de-colonize our minds? Especially when we consider that one may speak and think in the colonizer's language.
