I was very lucky to see and hear, up close, Albert Collins at The Penguin on Elgin, just a few years before he left us. Quite a show! He was happy as anything, and told me when he drifted by (he played right in the crowd, cordless connection on the guitar) that he'd never known many chords, that it was all in the bending. A real, real blues man. I was amazed he just talked to me like that, big grin on his face. Truth
