Oddball
I know I should just take it easy, but I can feel it starting all over again! I'm getting tired of staring at the same four walls! The traffic roars! The siren screams!

8:29 PM, October 24th, 2020
Chris Ikonomopoulos (host)
Oddball, you're onto something. Don't let your pride prevent you flexing your sax knowledge by title.

8:34 PM, October 24th, 2020
Oddball
I belong to the city, Heavy Chris. I belong to the night. I've been living in a river of darkness, beneath the neon light...

8:34 PM, October 24th, 2020
Chris Ikonomopoulos (host)
For someone who's not proud of knowing, you're going pretty deep. We like that on Heavy Friends.

8:37 PM, October 24th, 2020
Oddball
I might get thrown out of a cab for saying so man, but man, I hate the f****n' Eagles, man. And that goes for their solo work too, man.

8:37 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Ben
Oddball, re: sax solo #2. Quoting a verse betrays your shame!

8:40 PM, October 24th, 2020

Heavy Friends Pop Quiz: Are there any bands named after a bird that are worth listening to?

9:00 PM, October 24th, 2020
Lina
A Flock Of Seagulls? Worth listening to, not sure.

9:01 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Ben
Falcon (Ex-Circle)

9:03 PM, October 24th, 2020
Chris Ikonomopoulos (host)
Had not thought of them, Lina. Better than the Eagles, I'll say that.

9:03 PM, October 24th, 2020
Wally
A Flock Of Seagulls are highly under-rated but The Wild Swans are absolutely essential listening with songs Like Revolutionary Spirit & No Bleeding

9:04 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Ben
Does Ronnie "The Hawk" Hawkins count? That's technically not a band.

9:04 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Ben
Nor is Gil Scott "Heron" a band ;)

9:06 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Lina
"Isolation" is like ice cream, pick your favourite flavour!

9:09 PM, October 24th, 2020
Jas Nasty (host)

Chris Ikonomopoulos (host)
Alright, lots of bird bands happening. I guess so far, any band with Swan is okay. Seagulls doing okay, Falcon getting a pass but Heron and Hawk might be stretching it! Perhaps I was just blinded with agreement when Oddball sited The Eagles. Dishonourable mention to the Black Crows!

9:11 PM, October 24th, 2020
Oddball
Budgie!

9:11 PM, October 24th, 2020
Andrew
I like this one by Starchildren, I like my despair danceable :-)

9:11 PM, October 24th, 2020

Don't discount Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece with David Borden, one of the first electronic bands who worked with Bob Moog at Cornell university in the early 70s

9:12 PM, October 24th, 2020
Oddball
Budgie!

Hmm bird bands... The Yardbirds?? Not sure if the Byrds qualify.... contentious perhaps

9:13 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Lina
Brilliant song from Joy Division, the bottom loop is amazing! Thanks to everyone who donated tonight!

9:17 PM, October 24th, 2020
Heavy Ben
As loathsome as it may be to declare affection for Bill Corgan, that Starchildren version of "Isolation" was my favourite of the covers.

9:17 PM, October 24th, 2020
Dave Aardvark (host)
Corbeau! Hi y'all :D

9:21 PM, October 24th, 2020
