A Luta Continua
Friday April 10th, 2015 with gord walker
the new African land grab

Political leaders of many African countries, in partnership with foreign investors and national elites, are “grabbing” prime agricultural land along with rights to extract oil, gas, mineral reserves and unlimited use of water. African farmers and pastoralists are being displaced from their land and livelihoods, making it almost impossible for them to feed themselves. This Friday Gord Walker speaks about these issues with Obang Metho and Dr. Samuel Bonti-Ankomah, members of CELADA, an international coalition that promotes equitable land acquisition and agricultural development for the African people. For more information on CELADA and these issues, go to: www.CELADA.CA To listen to the interview tune into CKCU FM 93.1 this Friday @ 9:05 AM - just after the BBC world news - also available Live, on the internet at: CKCU Listen Live - After Friday you can listen to the interview at your convenience on CKCU's website at http://www.ckcufm.com/schedule - click 'a luta continua' on the program column for Friday.
