Political leaders of many African countries, in partnership with foreign investors and national elites, are “grabbing” prime agricultural land along with rights to extract oil, gas, mineral reserves and unlimited use of water. African farmers and pastoralists are being displaced from their land and livelihoods, making it almost impossible for them to feed themselves.
This Friday Gord Walker speaks about these issues with Obang Metho and Dr. Samuel Bonti-Ankomah, members of CELADA, an international coalition that promotes equitable land acquisition and agricultural development for the African people.
