Sunday Night Mind Melt
Sunday December 18th, 2016 with Dāv Fot
TBWNIAS!! King Crimson Live!!

A Special thanks to Bijon for allowing me the opportunity to fill in for the Mind Melt tonight! This show is Dedicated to Lady Mary of Heavy Friends - with heavy heart we pay tribute in her passing, to the contributions she made to CKCU and the world at large... and to the example of strength, intellect and spirit which made her time with us so elevating.
Starting with one song that is for Mary (obviously), but then... I feel that Mary would not want anyone to 'cop her style', or pay homage in any other way other than doing what you do the best way you can do it... so the rest of the show is playing the best music I can muster... hopefully it is 'good community Radio'!

Finishing up with a holiday-indulgence. I do love King Crimson, and, even though they're not ALL worth getting, KC's label, DGM, has been releasing the archive of live performances. On particularly well-recorded and immaculately-played performance happened on Nov. 23rd 1973 in Amsterdam and is immortalized on a 2xCD package called 'The Nightwatch' (ironic that I find time to play it on the Mind melt!) featuring Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford, John Wetton and David Cross!
