Rerun - Hawkwind's 40th Anniversay Special (2009)
Due to unforseen circumstances, The Nightwatch will be a re-run - I only have a few to choose from, but have selected the 'Hawkwind 40th Anniversary Show', originally aired in 2009. Starting with an uninterrupted editing of the 4 sides of Space Ritual, the show focuses on my favourite live recordings from the beginnings to present. Many apologies to listeners, I will be back in 3 weeks.
| Starting with one of my favourites (was it THE purchase, some 30 years ago, that set me on a course to liking strange music? Quite possibly...), the quintessntial 'Space Rock' release, 'Space Ritual Live' 2xLP. Played without interruption, sides edited together as well as my limited editing skills would allow (don't listen too closely to the beginning of 'Orgone Accumulator, please...), it is tremendously impressive when listened to as a continuous whole. |
