Mama has been one of the most influential musical experiences of my life... and I was ecstatic when they re-formed in the early-2000's. I realized I'd never done a feature on their post-2000 studio output... so here it is. The end of the show still had about 15 mins left to fill, so I added a rare live performance from '76 with them doing an absolutely punishing version of their iconic 'De Futura'. A tad bootleggy, but it displays a power that I don't think I've heard from a band of that era... or perhaps any other.
