Magma - Theusz Hahmtaak AND Mekanik Destrukitiw Kommandoh!

Got possessed by the spirit of Ron Sweetman (RIP) and decided to hit the jazz off the top, and decided to finish with both of the Magma classic cuts - Theusz Hahmtaak AND Mekanik Destrukitiw Kommandoh, recorded live in 1980.
Starting out with some 'intellectual's Big Band' music from '71, then onto some local, more recent jazz... then back to '71 for an electric effort from a classic jazz sax player.
5/4 Getaway
Don Ellis - Tears of Joy - 1971
Blue Nile
Atlantis Jazz Ensemble - Oceanic Suite - 2016 Canadian
Black Messiah
Cannonball Adderley - Black Messiah - 1971
Staying within the jazz realm... barely. This sets takes us to fusion territory, starting out with the amazing percussion work of Airto Moreira, joined by Joe Farrell on soprano sax, Hubert Laws on flute, Keith Jarrett on piano, Chick Corea on Fender Rhodes, George Benson on guitar and Ron Carter on bass, doing a great version of the 'Return to Forever' song, recorded that same year by the band of the same name, featuring most of the line-up above!
Return to Forever
Airto (Moreira) - Free - 1972
Puffin/Huffin
Soft Machine - Alive and Well (Recorded in Paris) - 1978
Tete de Roc
Ungava - S/T - 1977 Canadian
Since we hit the jazz/fusion side (with a brief prog overtone, courtesy Ungava - one LP only, great Quebec Prog/fusion LP!), might as well his one of THE biggies, and play a few tracks from the seminal early LPs Tony Williams Lifetime, with Larry Young (organ), John McLaughlin (guitar, vocals), Jack Bruce (bass, vocals)
Vuelta Abajo
Tony Williams Lifetime - John McLaughlin in Retrospect ('Turn it over' LP) - 1970
Sangria for Three
Tony Williams Lifetime - John McLaughlin in Retrospect ('Emergency' LP) - 1969
OK, out of the fusion and into the Krautrock... and closer-to-present-day post-rock, getting us prepared for the onslaught of Zeuhl that closes the show!
Spain, Yes, Franco Finished!
Embryo - Embryo's Rache - 1971
Gaetan Hart
J'envoie - La Vitesse des Chats Sauvages - 2009 Canadian
(Untitled)
Guapo - Obscure Knowledge - 2015
Finishing up with BOTH Of Magma's Magnum Opuses (Opii?) - Live versions from 1980!
Theusz Hahmtaak
Magma - Retrospectives Vol 1 & 2 - 1980
Mekanik Destrukitiw Kommandoh

Thanks for playing the Tony Williams tracks. I have often seen the LPs for sale at Dusty Groove, and wondered.

Honestly, I bought the LP (John McLaughlin In Retrospect', not knowing what it was... those early Lifetime LPs are SO hard to come by. BTW, where is 'Dusty Groove'?
