Dream Syndicate Live 1982! Electric Orange! Much Miscellany....
Unlike past post-Community-Record-Show-Nightwatches, I am going to pepper the next several Nightwatches with the occasional purchase, to keep it fresh, instead of packing the show with the new purchases. Keeps it fresh, I guess... As it stands, the final feature is a pairing of two of the longest punk rock songs I can find (with the exception of NoFX's 'The Decline', which I don't have.).
Starting out with a few tracks from a stunning performance from Dream Syndicate caught live on KPFK not long before their seminal 1st LP 'Days of Wine and Roses' was recorded in '82. |
That's what you Always Say Dream Syndicate - The Days Before Wine and Roses - Bang |
The Days of Wine and Roses Dream Syndicate - The Days Before Wine and Roses - Bang |
Dance the Mutation Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisited |
You Can Dream Black Mountain - IV |
Self-Centretown The Fays - War Tower |
As usual, plunging back into the mid-70's for some blues, psych-folk... and funk/afrobeat, bought at the Record show! |
El Stinger Harvey Mandel - Baby Batter |
Changing Reels Chilliwack - Chilliwack |
Survival Osibisa - Black Magic Night Live |
Rolling into into some more recent material, getting ready for some Krautrock from Hell... |
Rel FVEY H de Heutz - The Natural World |
Ataxia Fontanelle - Vitamin F |
Chorg (Capt. Gyrok's) Electric Orange - Krautrock from Hell - 2010 |
Also Acquired at the Record Show, a 2xLP from Germany's Electric Orange - great band, just got into them... which is strange, since they've been around since the early 90's. |
Neuronomicon Electric Orange - Krautrock from Hell |
We Can Make it Look Like and Accident Monobrow - The Nacarat |
Forging on to the heavy side... and cutting back on the number of tracks I'm playing... brought too much stuff! Plus, the Electric Orange tracks were really long. |
Psychic Spy Panopticon Eyelids - Overwhelming Visions |
Homocidal Suicidal Budgie - Budgie |
Caesar LXXI Sir Lord Baltimore - S/T |
Full Metal Jackoff Jello Biafra & D.O.A. - Last Scream of Missing Neighnours |
Finishing up in the long-winded punk rock side (a term not often associated with punk) - a track from the Damned (a punk band, yes, even if this song isn't necessarily what you'd call punk), and a track from the no-doubt-about-it UK punk band the Subhumans, with a 16-minuter that's definitely punk through and through. I didn't include NoFX's 'The Decline', because I don't own it... but it is longer than both of these, for the record. |
Curtain Call The Damned - The Black Album |
From the Cradle to the Grave Subhumans (U.K.) - From the Cradle to the Grave |
Myself a huge Black Mountain fan.
