Moving Gelatine Plates

Starting with early-70's prog... finishing with mid-70's prog... but hitting some post-rock and world in between.
Starting out this show by re-visiting an LP I played a tune from last week - Brian Auger's Oblivion Express and their 1st LP. I had just gotten the LP before the show last week, and played 'Total Eclipse'... but, after repeated listens, it turns out this is my favourite LP from them, and I wanted to bring you a couple more strong tunes from them. This starts off a set of music with a Hammond B-3 Organ fascination...

Moving from prog to some post-rock and jam-band, including a couple of Ottawa's own - Nero and Death Cake share some pivotal members...

So It Goes
Death Cake - Ind. Canadian

Shifting from acoustic jazz to classic fusion - last Nightwatch I plaed a few tracks from Weather Report's 1st LP... and here's a track from the second! Wish I had time for more!
Vertical Invader
Weather Report - We Sing the Body Electric
Now onto some jazz/prog/rock from France ca. '71, and '72 - thier only 2 LPs. With reviews quotes like: "The sounds they chose were thick, fat and wedgy - fuzz bass, loud acid guitar, trumpet, sax and flute." and "..the level of all-out invention and disregard for musical convention displayed here beats even the most wacked-out outfits operating in this field. And unlike more or less similar Gallic outfits like Komintern or Ame Son, which were much looser and more free-jazz influenced, the tightness is impressive.", what's not to like?
