Ian Carr's Nucleus!

Apologies for the re-run last Nightwatch, glad to be back in fighting form for this edition, including a feature on the first 2 LPs by Ian Carr's Nucleus, Elastic Rock and We'll Talk About It Later,
Starting in the Early 70's with a bit of Canadian Jazz-rock... then to the 80's for some Canadian post-rock... finish in the 2010's with Canadian neo-psych. Yow!
Roach
Horn - On The People's Side Canadian
Long Days

Start the next set with neo-psych, on to ye-olde psych!

Next set, back to post rock with a lamentably long-gone O-town band, then the titans of Krautrock!

To make a nice segue into the classic jazz-rock, we hit a bit of prog, and jazz-prog...

Sloche - J'un D'oeil Canadian
And finally, the Nightwatch tradition, the BIG feature at the end - thanks to pal Bruce McEwen, I am able to bring the first two (and many argue their best) Nucleus LPs, 'Elastic Rock' and 'We'll Talk About It Later'. "Nucleus were a pioneering jazz-rock band from Britain who continued in different forms from 1969 to 1989. In their first year they won first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival, released the album Elastic Rock, and performed both at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Village Gate jazz club.

They were led by Ian Carr, who had been in the Rendell–Carr Quintet during the mid and late 1960s, and was a respected figure in British jazz for more than forty years. Their jazz-based music evolved from an early sound incorporating elements of progressive and psychedelic rock toward combination with a funkier sound in the mid and late 1970s"
