Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga collaboration! Magma's Slag Tanz!
2 exciting new recordings: A new album from Manchester's Transmission 13, collaborating with Quebec drummer/independentg artist Antonio de Braga, and the new Magma composition Slag Tanz!
Starting out with a feature from a great new release from Manchester's Transmission 13, collaborating with Quebecois veteran drummer Antonio De Braga! If you're keen on what you hear, you can get it here: http://vanguardistarecords.bandcamp.com/releases |
Jackson Pollock Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga - Vanishing Point |
In Orbit Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga - Vanishing Point |
Vanishing Point Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga - Vanishing Point |
Levitation Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga - Vanishing Point |
Silent Electrical Storm Transmission 13/Antonio de Braga - Vanishing Point |
Now heading into some heavier material... winding up to the set of proto-punk! |
Light at the Speed of Sound High Watt Electrocutions - Desert Opuses |
Mechanisms Cranium Pie - Mechanisms Pt. 1 |
Strange Waves Quest For Fire - Quest for Fire |
Yes, we're still technically in the 'psychedelic' vein, but every so often I'm bitten by the 'proto-punk' bug, songs that were 'punk', but played in the 60's, some 10 years before 'punk' became a 'thing'. Here are some good (and maybe obvious) examples. Missed the Pink Fairies' 'Do It', though, must bring that one in next Nightwatch! |
Second Time Around Blue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum |
Borderline MC5 - Kick Out The Jams |
Real Cool Time The Stooges - The Stooges |
I Heard Her Call My Name Velvet Underground - White Heat/White Light |
Stroll On Yardbirds - Sndtk: Blow-Up |
Moving from proto-punk to pothead pixies with a bit of sad news - psychedelic/prog music mainstay Daevid Allen (Gong, primarily, but there are many others) has been given bad health-news. We'll play a few tunes of his to send the positive vibes towards him! |
Ocean Mother Brainville Three - Free de Brainville Three |
Trial By Headline Magick Brothers - Live at the Witchwood |
Flying Teapot Gong - Flying Teapot |
Now, the next feature - the new composition from Magma, and it's impressive, definitely of 'classic Magma' quality! They're playing 2 dates in Canada a couple of months from now, one at the FIMAV festival in Victoriaville! |
Slag Tanz Magma - Slag Tanz |
After Magma, a redux of a track I tried to play last Nightwatch, but failed because of techical difficulties, and some operator error. So... we'll try it again! |
II Seven That Spells - The Men from Dystopia |
And now we finish... with some Dub from a class act in the genre, Jah Wobble himself, from a live performance released in 2001, backed up by some serious heavyweights: Bill Laswell, Harold Budd, and Jaki Liebezeit! |
The Mystery of Twilight (part 1 & 2) Jah Wobble's Solaris - Live in Concert 2001 |
Thanks a million dave.appreciated,great show!
