A sad day in Rock 'n' Roll - Mick Green of the Pirates dies, January 11, 2010, so Nightwatch commemorates his passing, not with a moment of silence, but 20 minutes of great Pirates tunage, and then an exploration of the phenomenon of 'Pub Rock' - stripped down, boozin', high-energy nid-70's blues-rock-n-roll. Then, after a Beefheartian interlude, Local band Blackball contributes a set of Hawkwind tunes, played as part of a marathon live performance CKCU benefit for CKCU's funding drive in '08. Then the psych hits with The Band Whose Name is a Symbol's new LP (we play side 2 - side 1 was last show) and we finish up with a look at the extremely rare 'recorded-at-the-CBC', 'Direct To Disc' LP from FM.
