Classic Rock Unplayed I suppose is a bit of a misnomer as far as the general term "classic rock" has become known as a specific category of music. While it is true that this show does and will continue to play the great bands of the classic rock era such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin et al, the show will not play Satisfaction, Won't Get Fooled Again or Stairway To Heaven. These and other classic rock bands have many great songs which never make the playlist of conventional classic rock stations or be included in the we only play the same five songs all day mentality of those stations. But it is also my intention to bring to the attention much deserving artists who, though sadly many have passed on, never or have yet to reach the wide audience they so richly deserve. Artists such as Tommy Bolin, Robin Trower, Rory Gallagher, Mason Ruffner and Tinsley Ellis have been and will continue to be part of the Classic Rock Unplayed format. The show will also continue to feature new releases by classic rock artists as well as focusing on great Canadian bands such as April Wine, The Tea Party, Mahogany Rush, David Wilcox and Pat Travers. This great but often unheard music I'm hoping is a need shared by many and a need that I can fill here on CKCU FM. Where else?
