Eclipses, the Sun and the Stars... that's the theme tonight

We had a near total eclipse of the sun today in Ottawa and it was an amazing experience -and you didn't need to hide under your bed or close down schools... just enjoy nature wearing safety glasses!! So this evening it's a bunch of songs about eclipses, the sun, the stars ...and a few are literal, some are metaphors and some are gorgeous instrumentals... enjoy.

Joe! What was that cool track about 10-15 minutes ago, the spacy electronic sounds and loungy vocals? That was cool.

I think it was the Lisa Gerrard tune, absolutely beautiful. Gosh I had forgotten all about her and Dead Can Dance, wow. Brendan Perry!

Thanks Rob. That was it.

Glad you worked that out folks... but not sure LIsa would ever be described as loungy? Then again perhaps the oddball Eno vocals on the piece from the Ship can't really be described that way either. Haha. It's all good music! Thanks for listening and for reminding me of Brendan Perry's name... now he's sometimes loungy.... haha!!

Ok, 'loungy' not the best descriptor for those vocals. The Eno vocals on that track you played sound slightly loungy and remind me of Scott Walker. Either way, as you say it's great music. Thanks for the soundtrack this evening!
