The music of the British rock band The Sound is explored and some other great music as well.

I got a text from my son on the weekend: "What's your fav song by The Sound? It's so hard to pick one." He is right ... it's impossible if you like this English rock band from the 1980s. So I made a list of my 20 favourite songs and lo and behold that's what the Wavelength is featuring tonight - 20 great songs by The Sound. This underrated group made some great music from 1980 through 1987 before breaking up in 1988. Under the guidance of the group's singer and songwriter, Adrian Borland, The Sound released 6 albums and a couple of EPs. Sadly, Borland, who suffered from bouts of depression, took his own life in April of 1999. The man who leaked the Pentagon Papers was involved in a lot of the planning around American nuclear policy in the 1960s and 1970s and he offers amazing and frightening insights into this issue in his book.
