RBC Bluesfest Preview - Interviews with James McMurtry, Brock Zeman and Holy Fuck
Tonight we feature the music and words of artists coming to the RBC Bluesfest as we interview James McMurtry, Brock Zeman and Graham of Holy Fuck. Great music and lots of insights into how these artists make their music.
James McMurtry is playing at the RBC Bluesfest on the Monster Stage at 9:30 on Sunday, July 17. We talk to James about the narratives that run through his songs and how his father (writer Larry McMurtry) influenced the approach that James takes to his tale telling. We also talk about politics in music, how tough it is to make a living as a musician and the current state of affairs in the USA.

Ottawa's Brock Zeman was pretty excited to learn on air that his RBC Bluesfest gig is on the Monster Stage just before James McMurtry on Sunday, July 17. We talk about whether or not he gets nervous playing in front of a major and influential songwriter like McMurtry and how his songwriting style has evolved over the years. And we spin some new music from Brock's latest release The Pinball Sessions.

Finally we wrap up with Graham Walsh of Holy Fuck... who I jokingly call Holy Firetruck on the radio... the ire and tru are silent. Graham talks about the 6 years between Holy Fuck albums and the complexities of playing a bunch of foot pedals on a table when he hits the stage with Holy Fuck. This is an incredible band to watch live and you should not miss Holly Fuck at the RBC Bluesfest on Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m. on the Blacksheep Stage.
