In Hour One, Wayne Ng, Rachel Phan, and Jennilee Austria-Bonifacio join Susan, Micah and Gianluca to talk about LiterAsian, taking place at Perfect Books on Monday night. This discussion will explore how and why writers are expanding, subverting, and reimagining what it means to write from the margins—and how their stories are making space at the centre of Canadian literature. Admission is FREE (but seating is limited—arrive early to secure a spot). Perfect Books | 258 Elgin St. | Ottawa Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm In Hour Two, Andy Slater and Emily Cook join Susan and Micah to talk about Unknown Area, which creates a speculative archaeological encounter with collected evidence from an outpost where scientists and artists once worked. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to take on the role of researchers in order to piece together the site’s history through artefacts and artistic interventions. This exploratory exhibition results from Andy Slater and Emily Cook’s years of research, collecting, documenting and uncovering clues about an alternate world where sound and touch are central tools of participation. This world is one built by individuals on the Blind spectrum.
