Friday February 7th, 2025 with Susan Johnston
Songs for the Brokenhearted / Curse and Caution
In Hour One:
Join Susan for new music, featuring Humanhood by the The Weather Station. We'll also hear from author Ayelet Tsabari about her new book, Songs for the Brokenhearted (https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/532963/songs-for-the-brokenhearted-by-ayelet-tsabari/).
In Hour Two:
The Ottawa Baroque Consort visits CKCU.
The Ottawa Baroque Consort and storyteller David Brennan are back with an epic new show! Curse and Caution is our long-awaited chance to mount a new show in the same style. Drawings from the Gathered Leaves exhibition are projected on the 2-storey Imax screen and paired with baroque music and dynamic storytelling. The drawings, dating from the 15th-20th century, feature rarely seen works that are out on display after long periods out of sight. Subjects from history and mythology serve as poignant explorations of the human condition.
