He has also been shortlisted for the Amazon First Novel Award, the bp Nichol Award, the CBC Literary Award, and is a winner of the Diana Brebner Award and the Lampman Award from ARC Magazine. He has six published books (a seventh, eighth and ninth are contracted) and he is featured in several anthologies. He serves as an adjudicator for The Canada Council for the Arts and The Ontario Arts Council, and has also adjudicated awards for The Ottawa Book Awards, Carleton University and This Magazine and he acts as a mentor for young writers for the ReLit Foundation. His 2019 novel Skin House and his 2022 novel I am Billy the Kid have been included on NASA/Astobotics’ 2024 missions to the moon and the 2024 joint NASA/SpaceX lunar landings respectively.
