Messimba! Black History Month Music Arts Festival

This morning we'll dive into the Black History Month Music Arts Festival. Wise Atangana is performing tonight, so today we'll play his new album, Messimba, from top to bottom. Brandon Wint's new album (Freedom Journal: Antidotes to Violence) drops today too, so we'll start off with Obsession and then go from there. More about the Black History Month Music Arts Festival: "Back by popular demand, The Ottawa-Gatineau Afro-Black Cultural Centre and Artsconnect Ottawa presents you with the opportunity to not only celebrate black history but to participate in developing a shared language for discussion about equity in the present day which is the foundation of our work. We also aim to raise the self-esteem of those affected by societal injustices by teaching leadership skills through our e-mentoring and outreach programs. There will be artistic performances from black voices throughout the evening and a highly anticipated panel discussion on how to eradicate Anti-Black racism in the Canadian music industry."
