Friday Special Blend
Friday July 26th, 2019 with Chris White, Bill Mill, Barb Gray
Marley Giunta, Marley & Alec (Calling All Tribe), Annie Sumi, Angela Keller-Herzog

Bill Mill hosts a Tuesday evening folk/roots program on County FM 99.3 in Picton, Ontario (website https://993countyfm.ca). He's visiting the Ottawa area and drops by the CKCU studios to co-host this morning's show with Chris White. Guelph-based singer-songwriter Annie Sumi drops by to chat and perform live. She played a wonderful concert last night at the Art House Café, a lovely establishment located at 555 Somerset Street West. Several people who were in the audience loved her show so much that they're coming into CKCU this morning to see her chat and perform! Her most recent album is "In the Unknown", and her website is https://www.anniesumi.com. Through her business called Marley Loves Your Guts, Marley Giunta makes fermented foods and beverages and delivers them to subscribers. She drops by the studio to conduct the First Annual Fermented Foods Taste Test with our distinguished radio panel! To find out more about Marley's work and the many benefits of probiotics, check out https://www.marleylovesyourguts.com. Marley and Alec have a band called 'Calling All Tribe'. They will perform live in the studio... and talk about an exciting new festival they're helping to organize called Waystock. The festival will take place on the grounds of the Shawville Hotel from August 23 to 25 -- see https://www.waystock.ca for details. Angela Keller-Herzog is the Green Party candidate for Ottawa Centre in the upcoming federal election. She talks about her priorities and the types of concerns she's hearing from the public. Check out Angela's website at https://voteangela.ca -- and be sure to get out and vote when the time comes! Angela will also talk about today's mini-conference and flotilla protesting the plan to build a mega- above-ground nuclear waste dump on geological unstable ground less than a kilometre from the Ottawa River. This is a river that we play, paddle and swim in, and from which millions of folk in Ontario and Quebec get their drinking water. For lots of good information about this issue, check the website of the Concerned Citizens of Renfrew County and Area at https://concernedcitizens.net. Plus... Barb Gray is in just before 8 o'clock *and* just after 8 o'clock with her Friday Arts Report.
