LAURIN RINDER and W. MICHAEL LEWIS were California based rock musicians who met at an audition in the late 1960's. After playing in a band called JOSHUA, they got hired by a label called American Variety International (or just AVI) in 1973. By 1975 AVI records released the first LAURIN RINDER and W. MICHAEL LEWIS produced EL COCO album called 'Brazil' which competed with the Philadelphia based RITCHIE FAMILY's album of the same name. That EL COCO first album was especially popular in conservative discos throughout Latin America, Quebec and Western Europe for easy and musically rich tracks like "Caravan", "Masquerade", "Disco Carnival", "Bahia" and "Zanzibar". That same kind of love affair with EL COCO concentrated and continued in Canada and France with tracks from their second EL COCO album 'Mondo Disco' like the title track and "Yakety Yak". RINDER & LEWIS continued producing distinct and amazing AMERICAN DISCO for AVI along other disco labels like Butterfly. Under the name EL COCO they offered iconic classics like "Mondo Disco", "Afrodesia" and the various versions of "Cocomotion". They had a rich sound largely due to their JAZZ training earlier in their careers. Under a variety of other names they created records that contributed to defining AMERICAN DISCO. Several amazing RINDER & LEWIS albums were released in the late 1970's and early 1980's like the legendary 'Seven Deadly Sins' album considered by many sources to ba a unique and timeless gem, even today! Here are just some of their tracks and their productions. We have included some remixes and edits to spice up the mood also. After all it's a two hour 'RINLEW' party! And we'll dance if we want to!
