Thanking you all!

First and foremost I would like to thank CHARLOTTE CAIN who has a long history with CKCU. Although she now lives and works as a professional dancer in Toronto, she took on the task of organising the list of announcers to fill in for me during this 3 month absence! She managed the situation and contacted potential candidates, coordinating it with DAVE ARDVARK at CKCU here in Ottawa! When CHARLOTTE came to Ottawa to spend sometime for Christmas, she took the time to do a very popular episode of The Groove herself on December 30 that featured a variety of new styles including some amazing AFROBEATS recordings! I would also like to especially thank our Program Director DAVE ARDVARK!! After managing our radio station through the whole COVID 19 fiasco, he was suddenly confronted with my prolonged absence. I can't tell you how much so many of us at CKCU appreciate DAVE's tireless efforts to maintain a continuity here at the station! DAVE was also instrumental in keeping The Groove on the air during that difficult period. DAVE ARDVARK is one of the best Program Directors CKCU has ever had. DAVE took the time on November 11 to do a funding drive episode of The Groove featuring classic ON U SOUND and Tackhead recordings! A very big thank you to the famous DJ DUCATS from CKCU's incredible HIP HOP show PEACEFUL JOURNEY. DJ DUCATS kindly replaced me for three shows on November 18th, December 9th and January 6th! Thank you to DEVINE for joining DJ DUCATS on the January 6th show! The mixes of HIP HOP and BREAKS which DJ DUCATS featured were exhilarating and inspiring! A very big thank you to the one and only JUNIOR SMITH! It has always been an honor and pleasure dealing with JUNIOR over the years as his famous and wildly popular Reggae In The Fields show follows The Groove. JUNIOR SMITH did two episodes of The Groove on December 16th and December 23th featuring a choice selection of FUNK and DISCO recordings! A tremendous Thank You to DJ TEKNOBRAT. After so many years of producing and releasing TECHNO, NU DISCO and TECH HOUSE records and DJing throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Americas, TEKNOBRAT still insisted upon coming back to CKCU and replacing me for the funding drive show on November 4th where he featured a marvelous Kraftwerk special. TEKNOBRAT then returned to replace me again on January 13th where he featured a wildly popular show featuring HABIBI FUNK recordings of SOUL, FUNK & DISCO from the Middle East and North Africa! I would also like to thank HEAVY BEN and JAS NASTY from the popular Saturday Night CKCU show HEAVY FRIENDS! It was a pleasure to hear the mix of ELECTRO and various styles of DISCO including MONTREAL SOUND which they featured on the November 25th show! Each and everyone of you has been so kind and considerate. Thank you!! I am happy to be back!
