ROCK DISCO

This show offers just the tip of the iceberg of recordings combining ROCK music with DISCO! We are featuring various ROCK artists who successfully merged the sounds like ERIC CLAPTON, DAVID BOWIE, LED ZEPPELIN, THE ROLLING STONES, SUPERCHARGE, Canada's legendary COPPERPENNY, RAM JAM, JOHN MILES, QUEEN, EMIGRE, SPARKS, ROXY MUSIC and KISS. Yet we are not featuring all of such examples of "ROCK artists including elements of DISCO in their sounds". Furthermore we are not featuring ROCK artists who simply recorded DISCO like THE BEACH BOYS with "Here Comes The Night", ROD STEWART with "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" or THE BEE GEES with various popular examples. We have featured various examples of a specific style of DISCO where artists incorporate ROCK in their music. We feature two examples from the legendary AMERICAN DISCO producer PAUL SABU. Under the name 'SABU' he started recording his 'ROCK DISCO' in the late 1970's. With a full band he slowly moved the sound to HEAVY METAL in years to follow. We feature PULSE3 from France and also two tracks from the wildly popular German group SUPERMAX. These are just some examples in DISCO of dozens of different artists and producers who successfully combined their DISCO music with ROCK. We have included the brilliant "Da Guadeloop" by the KRAUTROCK group AMON DUUL II. Yet there are plenty of other KRAUTROCK acts that really had a profound influence on various styles of DISCO with their experimentations in the 1970's and early 1980's like LA DUSSELDORF, CAN, NIAGARA and the guitarist MANUEL GöTTSCHING. We are also featuring two SPACE artists who began producing their "space rock" before combining it with DISCO. Maybe the best of such groups we are featuring are the 'kings of space' LES ROCKETS. Their funky metallic version of JERRY LORDAN's "Apache" is a classic example.
