IRENE CARA (March 18, 1959 - November 25, 2022) ///////////// The Boom Zouk
IRENE CARA was a young LATIN singer and actress from The Bronx who gained international fame in 1980 with the role of the budding student talent Coco Hernandez in the musical film FAME. CARA sung the title song "Fame" which became popular on commercial radio and discotheques throughout Europe and the Americas. She recorded some albums in the 1980's with medium success. In 1983 CARA would co-write and sing the wildly popular song "Flash Dance... What A Feeling" for the movie FLASHDANCE. With the music composed by Giorgio Moroder, it would win a variety of awards.
