RETURNINGTOTHE80'S!

"It was a very weird decade, interesting & vibrant yet boring and bland in many aspects .... glad it's over !" - Marie ------------------------------------------------------------- Not featured in this show are selections from disco genres that emerged during the 1980's like ZOUK, contemporary SOUKOUSS, HOUSE MUSIC, ACID, JUNGLE, NEW BEAT and TECHNO, to name a few. There are also no selections from major artists that influenced the sound of DISCO in the 1980's like MICHAEL JACKSON, THE EURYTHMICS, KRAFTWERK, DEPECHE MODE, MADONNA or RUN D-M-C. The 1980's were exciting and revolutionary in some ways in terms of the development of the disco musics and medium. In other personal terms, for millions of lovers of EURODISCO and AMERICAN DISCO from the 1970's, it was dreadfully dull and disappointing.

ABM Records was the store, nestled at the bottom of an apartment building. The first time.. I went.. I felt I was in Brooklyn, Bronx. Wicked tunes, on vinyl. Great playlist for this show, Elorious.

I more remember ABM records for the 1990's than the 80's. Downtown Records were the music store for the 1980's. I bought many of these trax there.

Looking forward to his show. This was my golden age. Kony - I did go to the abm shop in 1989. It was super underground open only certain times on certain days. A lady there knew everything and helped choose stuff. I never liked downtown of King Edward Street.

Congratulations on a good and energetic show. I am very fond of music from the 1980's. That was my decade when I was young and wild and such. Now life is not so fun and this show took me on a little personal trip back. Keep up the good work sir.

Hey Elorious - great to hear some of those 80's megamix bootlegs! Think about doing a whole show of 'em. It would be rad.

No Clash? No Cabaret Voltaire? What about The Jam? Do you know anything about the 1980's?

Elorious Cain (host)
For goodness sake Carl! There are a multitude of bands that I didn't include in this show that helped make the 1980's as unique and exciting a decade it was. As for my credits, I started this show in 1979! It ran throughout the 80's.

My opinion is that you didn't play any House Music, especially Chicago House. That music defined the 80s for me.

Please play more rarities from the 1980's. My Wife and I go out and dance at 80's nights at clubs here in Ottawa and we just loved this mix. Thank you in advance.
