IT WAS A BOLD NEW WORLD... (PUNKDISCO/NEW WAVE/TANZMUSIK/ELECTRICBODYMUSIC/SYNTHPOP/ELECTRONIC DISCO/DISCO DE MÉTAMORPHOSE}

Between 1978 and 1981 a whole new sound started invading discotheques that was created by Punk acts and a variety of comparable artists and producers. Here is just some. Some listeners may actually wonder why certain popular or revolutionary acts are not included. Here is just a selective sample from what so many of us thought; at the time, was a bold new world!

I have several "histories of pop or New Wave" and none of them mention this combination or movement. Very surprising.

I have a book of The Clash published in France that talks of the group playing in discotheques in Europe avec 'rok the casbah'.

A very big thank you for playing all of those records that I used to have. I lost them all in a fire in 1994. I got some of them, like Sandinista, on cd yet it doesn't sound as good as the record did. This show is fun and informative. I had never heard of Mathematics Modernes or L.M. Decloux probably from France.

Mr. Van Houff, it is my pleasure. To everybody else - thank you for your comments. It didn't expect such a response. And also I do remember selling some of these records at the first location of Earfull Records.

I know several examples you could have played also. In your defence you did say you were playing 'some examples'. Novel effort.
