David Francey. A tribute to Bob Nesbitt.

Three-time JUNO Award winner David Francey talks about life *off* the road, the connections between songwriting and painting, and his delight at having his song 'Skating Rink' chosen as the theme for 'Hockey Day in Canada'. We pay tribute to the late Bob Nesbitt (April 26, 1939 - February 27, 2021), an incredible and much-loved community builder who founded the Ottawa Grassroots Festival in 2012.

A tribute to Bob Nesbitt (1939-2012). Bob created countless opportunities for people to develop, learn, connect and celebrate through the teams, organizations and events he created. Bob led the Ottawa Folk Festival site construction crew for many, and founded the Ottawa Grassroots Festival in 2012. The entire Canadian Spaces show on April 10 will be a celebration of Bob's many gifts and contributions.

Excellent show, Chris and Sue! Thanks so much for giving us a voice to commemorate dear Bob. Saw David Francey last year at the NAC with my sister ....great show and artist :) I chatted with Lynn Miles at the 2019 Ottawa Grassroots Festival and discovered we both hung out at ye ole' Bank Street Cafe, in the day (80's), where I first heard her amazing music :)

Wonderful to hear all this great music. Takes me back to Britannia Park, working on the Site Crew with Bob Nesbitt. A great tribute to a lovely man.
