Chris, I just noticed that the Ian Bell graphic at the top of the page is the painting he did for the cover of an album I was involved with...”The Best of Touch the Earth”. That was the folk show I produced on CBC Radio in the seventies.

When Ian Bell was a student at Sheridan College in Oakville (if I have the right Ian Bell) he brought his banjo to a party at our house. He left the banjo behind after the party and when everyone had left, I picked it up and explored said banjo, but, knowing nothing about how to play it, it ended sounding more like a sitar than a banjo. that's my brush with a folk music legend.

That's a fun story, Ross!
