It is a beautiful morning and I am happy to be listening to Canadian Spaces on my birthday! I am looking forward to attending the Ottawa Folk Festival 25th Anniversary Picnic tomorrow at Britannia Park! I hope someone can bring a video camera to capture the memories...

Will CKCU be complying with the CRTC's guidelines “Guidelines for TV and radio broadcasters and TV service providers during an election” to provide equitable time to the candidates of the other political parties now that the Green Party candidate has been given on air time during the election period.

I've long enjoyed listening to and financially supporting this program, but it's disheartening to hear it take such a political stance in support of the Green Party. This is wrong and undermines what was a music program.

Ron: Today's show connected the Green Party's values and perspectives with several songs created by Canadian singer-songwriters. I will be happy to plan and present a similar type of show with representatives of any other political party. Please feel free to get in touch with me at any time at chris@ckcfm.com.

Ron: By the way, we're not actually in an election period, as a date for the election has not yet been set. From the CRTC website at https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/industr/tvradio/guidelec.htm ... “Election period” is defined in the Radio Regulations, 1986 and the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987 as the period beginning on the date of the announcement of the election, and ending on the date the election is held.

David: I'm sorry you feel that way. Many thanks for your generous financial support in the past.

Happy birthday, Joyce MacPhee! I meant to announce it during the show but plumb forgot! I'm looking forward to seeing you at the folk fest reunion at Britannia Park tomorrow afternoon!

Thanks for playing Spirit Lake. Erica is spelled with a c, not a k, and if the red leaf indicates Canadian, it shouldn't be there.
