Lori Jean Hodge Lori was such a special person. She touched so many people and was much loved. Lori was an active member of the music scene in Ottawa for many years. She was part of the Suicide Kings (Pop and Blues) band for 7 years, and also had a kick-ass solo career, always surrounding herself with a cast of all-star musicians. She was a frequent performer at Rasputin's, Cafe Dekcuf, The Rainbow, (I'm sure there are others), and participated in the Writer's Bloc songwriting group and the Great Canadian Song-Along. Lori was also a highly accomplished actor, working with several different theatre companies over the years. In her job as a mental health worker, she spent many years working in Women's Shelters in Ottawa. Most recently, she was an outreach worker with the Canadian Mental Health Association. This barely skims the list of Lori's accomplishments and interests. Chris has invited me to co-host a tribute radio show at some point to highlight Lori's music and remember our funny, kind and radiant friend. Lori's Celebration of Life is today at Hulse & Playfair, main chapel on the corner of Gladstone and O'Connor. Visitation: noon - 3PM Service - 3 - 4PM Reception 4 - 6PM Donations can be made in Lori's honour to Toronto General Western Hospital Foundation.
