The Italian group DFA and the Swedish Ad Perpetuam Memoriam label.

The first set of this week's program features the Italian symphonic fusion group DFA, who released three studio and one live album between 1996 and 2008. There is a connection to my last show's featured artist, Deus ex Machina, in that Alberto Piras guests on one of their albums, although I did not include that track. Instead we have thirty minutes of excellent mostly instrumental music with inspiration from Canterbury and Gentle Giant among other sources. The remainder of the show is devoted to a label that I played music from last time, the Swedish Ad Perpetuam Memoriam (APM) label from the 90s. I will be featuring music from four of their artists, Atlas, Akasha, Blåkulla (all reissues) and Höyry-Kone (then new, and eventually more or less turned into Alamaailman Vasarat). The Atlas album, incidentally, is in the process of being reissued by the Swedish Transubstans label after 27 years.
