A bit of a child prodigy born March 21, 1963, in Memphis, Tennessee, becoming the lead guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas at age 14. While his early works were more in the country rock vein, his first music credit is on Highwayman 2 with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, it was his seeing Allan Holdsworth and U.K. at age 15 that inspired a change of guitar style leading to a more fusion direction.
His first solo release Powers of Ten in 1992 on which he plays all the instruments, won raves from both guitar and keyboard publications. It was a chance meeting with ex- Mahavishnu bassist Jonas Hellborg that would start a nine year musical relationship that would take them from jazz fusion to a more east-west fusion.
