Double Birthday fun: John Zorn & Michael Rother
This week it's a tale of two birthdays. First being German multi-instrumentalist Michael Rother, best known for his work with Neu! and Harmonia.
A couple of tracks from both Neu! and Neu! 2 as well as a collaboration of Harmonia with Brian Eno recorded in 1976, and then a Neu! cover from Porcupine Tree.
Second birthday belongs to John Zorn " an American composer, conductor, saxophonist, arranger, producer that "deliberately resists category" - Wikipedia.
A couple of tracks from his 50th birthday series, Electric Masada and the not-for-the-timid Painkiller. A track from Naked City which featured Fred Frith and Bill Frisell, then a track from Marc Ribot from the Book of Angels series and then the Dreamers part of his Music Romance Series.
Also a bonus birthday track from Caravan drummer Richard Coughlan from the 1970 release If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You
