Great minds think alike? Played Herbie Hancock / Rockit just yesterday on Loosely Connected. As part of JazzFest psych-up of course. Herbie shows are always fantastic, and who knows what style he'll be on. Different every time. Rats! Ry Cooder and Tanya Tagaq are on the same night, many km apart... Tagaq is a DO NOT MISS for anyone who has never witnessed her live performances before. Definitely not your Grandmother's throat singing. Can emote joy and terror, sometimes at the same time. Will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Too true, PeterB, what can I say? Got my Ry Cooder tickets before the JazzFest lineup was announced...a fantastic night of music for everyone! And Rockit - one of the all time great disco tunes, as Elorious Cain would affirm. Peace!

Say Hey from l'Outaouais Janis ~ Just came in for a refresca after re-imagineering a hole on the 'If 6 Was 9 Jimi Hendrix Memorial Golf Course & Back Forty Rave On Driving Range', here at el Rancho U and thought I recognized the dulcet tones (and cool tune choices) of your own self. Good to hear you back on the wireless wavelengths, kiddo. Bill Frissell with a Ry and Herbie H chaser. Niiiice... now where's that solar-powered, free-range, Freeplay radio, so I can enjoy some tunes-to-take out(side.) Mahalo ~ l Coyote, 'If 6 Was 9...' Course Marshal, Greens-keeper & Semi-Pro Shop Attendant PS: Ry C's 'Prodigal Son' (not Joachim, the album) has been in heavy rotation in the Untamed Ranchmobile. Lookin' forward to next Wednesday night seein'he and his capable rritmo accomplices at Centrepointe. "I heard them Googlemen drink so much coffee, I declare, I think they might drown..." (That line in 'Gentrification' slays me every time.)
