The 20th Annual Ottawa Folk Festival celebrates Chopper McKinnon

The 20th Annual Ottawa Folk Festival started last night and runs until Sunday with an exciting range of free and ticketed shows. It's the first Folk Festival that the late, great Chopper McKinnon won't attend. Chopper's enormous contribution to the Folk Festival, CKCU, and the Ottawa music scene will be celebrated in a special workshop open to the public, Saturday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on the Hill Stage. Arthur McGregor, Lynn Miles, Doug McArthur and Terry Gillespie will share stories about Chopper and sing some of the songs he loved. And don't forget to "participaint" in the creation of a Folkfest mural in Chopper's honour.
