Hi Janis. Chopper moved to Ottawa from El Paso, Texas in 1961. Lived in my hood and we met at Woodroffe High School in Grade 10.

There are many myths - in the good sense - of how Chopper got his name. I've heard many great versions over the years. For Dennis Ruffo and I our story is that John 'Pits' Parker named him at Woody High due to his resemblance to the dog on Yacky Duck cartoon. Thanks for this Janis - it is helping a lot.

It is a shame it is in times like these that we are brought together; likewise it is comforting that we can turn to one another now.
