| The next set will be bookended by two very different recordings of the same piece, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's brooding and dramatic fantasy in f sharp minor from 1787. We will start with a recording on the extremely rare tangent piano, which was a type of keyboard instrument which enjoyed a brief popularity during the late 18th century and for which, CPE Bach composed music for. We will end with a recording on a modern grand piano. |
