Amarrass Desert Music Festival with music from Mali and Rajasthan
Half of today's show is dedicated to a wonderful concert recording of the Amarras Desert Music Festival in New Delhi. Featuring Rajasthani and Malian music with Vieux Farka Touré, Madou Sidiki Diabaté, Lahka Khan, Barmer Boys. Two of my favourite musical traditions together, sublime!
Amarras Records is a small New Delhi based label which specializes in location and live recordings of Rajasthani folk music, and have branched out with African musicians touring India.
