Winterpride March
12:00 PM on Sunday Feb. 10th, 2019
Parliament Hill, concludes at Bank & Sparks Sts.

We would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Nation. We give pride to this place of recognition and we thank the Algonquin Nation for allowing us to gather here.

Come out and take the streets to celebrate the strides of the LGBTQ2+ community and to demand for full equality and social justice in Canada and around the world! Bring your flags posters or signs, or anything to demonstrate what’s important to you as a member of the LGBTQ2+ community and/or ally. Make your voices heard!

We invite the LGBTQ2+ community and its allies to brave the cold and come out to take to the streets for the Capital Pride March. We will both commemorate and celebrate the partial decriminalization of homosexual acts in Canada, while also continuing the fight for full equality on various issues in Canada and around the world.

Guest speakers following the march will address certain policies that still forbid men and trans women from donating blood for engaging in same-sex sexual activities, the increasing use of “conversion therapy,” and other issues still affecting the broader LGBTQ2+ community.
