Healing Dinner
6:00 PM on Sunday Feb. 25th, 2018
The Odawa Native Friendship Centre, 250 City Centre Ave.

Due to the recent verdicts of the Colten Boushie and Tina Fontaine trial, I am publicly inviting Indigenous people in and around the Ottawa area to come gather together at Kind Space for a dinner this Sunday at 6:00 PM that my friends and I are hosting.

The purpose of this dinner is to gather and spend time together in the light of this news. To eat and be taken care of. Many are still in disbelief and shock and many are in pain and are hurting. In times of grief and pain, we sometimes tend to isolate ourselves. Food is something that we all need to survive but in grief it is easy to skip meals. Food can bring together a community in a healing way.

Feel free to bring a dish to share but I am asking non-Indigenous people to donate food and drinks or make food, or money for food and drinks for this event and to help with set up, collecting donations, letting people into the building and clean up.

This dinner will be held on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Territory.
