One month from today, on November 20th,
the Canadian Film Institute will launch its 30th annual European Union
Film Festival (EUFF). For the first time in the three decade history
of the Festival, this year's EUFF will feature films from each and
every European Union member state: all 28 countries are participating,
including the EUFF debut from Malta.
In addition to these 28 Ottawa premieres, the Canadian Film Institute
will be bringing several filmmakers to Ottawa from the European Union
to introduce and discuss their films with audiences in Canada's
capital. Also for the first time this year, the EUFF takes place at
the ByTowne Cinema.
"We are thrilled about the films and filmmakers we're bringing to
Ottawa this year for this very special 30th edition of the EU Film
Festival," says Canadian Film Institute Executive Director, Tom
McSorley, adding, "We are also excited about hosting the Festival in
the extraordinary venue that is the ByTowne Cinema, a cinema palace in
the grandest tradition of motion picture presentation."
