Led by Slim Cessna himself, he and his band of old traditionalists have been around in one form or another since 1993. Performing in area dives and opening up shows for Johnny Cash, Cracker, and Kristen Hersh. The sound is classic country there's no doubt about it. Elements of rock and bluegrass seep through in the performance but this ain't no ya'll-ternative act--this music will have meaning for years to come. Slim delivers his lyrics with the fervor of a gospel choir. He explains, "I don't know if the Bible is true or not, but Jesus and Satan have becomes like family." Drinkin' Ramblin Honky Tonkin', the title of the debut album from Ottawa, Ontario's Uncle Sean & the Shifty Drifters, aptly describes their musical style as well as their lifestyle.
