- Slim Cessna's Auto Club -
Led by Slim Cessna himself, he and his band of old traditionalists have been around in one form or another since 1993. Performing in area dives and opening up shows for Johnny Cash, Cracker, and Kristen Hersh. The sound is classic country there's no doubt about it. Elements of rock and bluegrass seep through in the performance but this ain't no ya'll-ternative act--this music will have meaning for years to come. Slim delivers his lyrics with the fervor of a gospel choir. He explains, "I don't know if the Bible is true or not, but Jesus and Satan have becomes like family." SCAC just released their third recording "Always Say Please and Thank You" on Alternative Tentacles Records. So how does a country band find
home in a record company that is the starting place of the Butthole Surfers, Alice Donut and The Dead Kennedy's? Former Dead Kennedy front-man and Alternative Tentacles leader sums it up like this: "This is the country band that plays at the bar at the end of the world."

- The Shifty Drifters -
Drinkin' Ramblin Honky Tonkin', the title of the debut album from Ottawa, Ontario's Uncle Sean & the Shifty Drifters, aptly describes their musical style as well as their lifestyle. They bring a heartbreaking mix of old time honky tonk & outlaw country, complete with blazin' fiddles, pluckin' banjos and wailin' pedal steel. Uncle Sean was born & raised in Sudbury, Ontario on a steady diet of Pabst Blue Ribbon & Johnny Cash. his country twang will take you back to the good ol' days of country music, with instant classics such as "Pour Myself a Friend", "Six Feet Deep", and "Country Boy Livin' Free". The Shifty Drifters consist of Ottawa music veterans: Peter Pritchard on lead guitar, Steve Donnelly on upright bass, Ryan Barwin on pedal steel and dobro, Karolyne Lafortune on Fiddle and Ernie Legend on drums. Uncle Sean & the Shifty Drifters' unique style of honky tonk country will have you foot stompin & honky tonkin in no time. So shine up your boots, send the kids to Grandma's house, and get ready to tip back a few whiskeys with the boys!
